Obiettivi formativi

Fornire conoscenze teoriche e pratiche sui principali fitofagi della vite e dei fruttiferi e sulle più avanzate ed ecocompatibili tecniche di difesa, con particolare riferimento alla filiera melo nell’area piemontese (Italia nordoccidentale).

 

 

To provide theoretical and practical knowledge on the main pests of grapevine and fruit trees and on their control, with particular reference to the apple chain in Piedmont (NW Italy).

Lo studente acquisirà e approfondirà le conoscenze relative ai principali fitofagi della vite e dei fruttiferi dell’Italia nordoccidentale, con particolare attenzione alle tecniche innovative e a basso impatto ambientale di difesa.

The student will acquire and improve the knowledge on the main pests of grapevine and fruit trees in North-WestItaly, with special attention to the environmental-friendly techniques for crop protection.

Durante le lezioni, alla fine della trattazione di ciascun argomento, sarà organizzata una discussione comune. Le esercitazioni/visite in campo saranno un'ulteriore occasione di verifica del livello di apprendimento

The subjects, hereafter reported, are included in the learning area of production and management

Insect and mite pest identification. Principles on identification of fruit and grapevine insect and mite pests and their antagonists. Classification of pests in relation to their feeding activity, and to damage they cause.

Sustainable pest management. Conventional pest control. Biological pest control. Integrated pest management.

Grapevine insect and mite pests. Bio-ethology, distribution, and control strategies of the main grapevine pests. Field sampling, symptom detection. Laboratory insect and mite identification.

Apple insect and mite pests. Bio-ethology, distribution, and control strategies of the main apple pests. Field sampling, symptom detection. Laboratory insect and mite identification.
